Announcement – Offer To Buy Twitter.com!

April 1st, 2009

This is HUGE! Frank and I have thought about this long and hard and feel that we are the right people to take Twitter.com to the next level and make it monitizable and profitable.

We have therefore planned our finances and are very excited to announce that later today we will be putting in an offer for Twitter.com ! (The offer is being drawn up by the guys in suits as we speak…)

Here is a short announcement video about this as we are very excited (Although I try to hide it in the video for professional reasons of course, want them to know that they can take us seriously)…

Want to win the chance to partner with us and own a whopping 5% of Twitter.com one of the most trafficked sites on the net?

It is easy, here are the 5 steps:

1) Be sure you are a ViralURL member – Once Twitter accepts our offer, Tinyurl with be replaced with ViralURL
2) Write a Blog post about it and be sure to link to this thread
3) Join: ViralFollowers.com – Simply input your Twitter username and password – We will do the rest (and no, your info is not stored)
4) In 140 characters or less, post in this thread below why you should be the one to win the 5%. What can you bring to the table in terms of skills or leadership?
5) Tweet about this thread by clicking here

Thats it… You will be in the draw! (If you feel like digging this post it will show you are serious about getting the word out that Twitter is about to see some major changes).

Be sure to subscribe to our feed here as well as we will be updating you on the progress of the negotiations as they take place.

Well, Based on their Balance sheet, future potential growth accounted for and the amount we are willing to offer, I’m sure they will be interested ;)

BTW – How would skepticism be a valued skill in a partner for us? What can you offer as a part owner of twitter (Remember, 140 chars or less :) )

This is a great opportunity. I love when someone has a vision and goes for it.

I would love to be a partner. This is a great opportunity for anyone. I’m ambitious, creative I love learning new things when it comes to marketing and my development as a leader. I will never know very thing but I can try to learn as much as I can and help others in the process. Success and leadership begin in the mind and skills are easily learned.
This is a great opportunity and I’m jumping on it.

Good Luck to you guys.

I feel that I should be one of your 5% because I have been working with many of the social media for a couple of years now. Seems all the “big dogs” finally got on the Twitter bandwagon this past year.

I have many ideas I am implementing for broadcasting news, blog info, offers, JV brokering, etc.

I wish you great luck, but I feel this just to be a bit of a PR stunt. Twitter have already publicly stated they won’t be acquired, and all their investors are in it for the long term, not just to make a fast buck. As Twitter already turned down Facebook over money, I hope you have very very deep pockets.

So join the ranks of Google, Facebook, Microsoft et al enjoying the publicity enjoyed by those involved in Twitter purchase speculation. If this turns out to be real, and you do acquire Twitter, I am quite prepared to eat my hat.

This is a little confusing. Its almost like your making up this story just to get people to join your site and become your followers on twitter. Why would twitter turn down $500 million from facebook and accept your offer?

Belief is the knowledge that we can do something. So in belief there is power; our visions become realities.

April Fools!!

I love the ambition, but Twitter is not only used for people trying to make money online. While I would love to see up and coming internet marketers have ownership of Twitter, I think this is an cleverly developed April Fool’s hardy-har….Anyone remember Richard Branson’s April Fools when he said he was teaming up with Google for a Mars Expedition?

Good stuff guys, you rock!!!

In this case I do think two Rob’s make a right.
I would be surprised if you even left the country.

Twitter is valued at $60 -$150 million. If they turned it into your vision it would most likely crash and burn. The only reason we can thrive here as biz builders on Twitter, is because it is more than just a business conversation place. The last thing we need is a bunch of marketers trying to get other marketers into their business.

I am confident that this is a combo April fools prank/get people to sign up for your program.

As an April Fools prank its fine. But if you are using it as a way to get people to sign up for viralurl I think it is bad form, and your lack of integrity will end up biting you in the bottom.

Good luck with your bid.

All the best,

Rob

Wow. Is this an April Fool’s joke? If it’s not, then you sure missed a good chance at it. Seriously. I’m not knocking what you are doing… it’s just that this announcement has been made on quite an obvious day. OK… so if you buy Twitter and are giving away 5% of the ownership, what exactly does that mean? 5% monetary or just 5% say-so in future development? Or 5% of the “laughs on you” (as they say….).
ViralFollowers does seems like a grand idea. Seems as though everyone these days wants to know how to get more Twitter followers. Those that actually pay attention to what you are saying, at least.

Wish ya’ll all the best!

Sounds great, but Twitter is forecast as being worth $1bill over the next 2-3 years. If you can pull this off, you are a God among men. Otherwise, great way to get some press!!

haha

you guys are such sweeties – it was worth playing along to see what you would come up with next – what did twitter think of the joke?

I loved Franks’ serious vid where he showed how you would offer $1,000 to Twitter, his first couple sentences almost made me think he really was serious…
